The 3 storey Water Street building has an historic archway separating the ground floor into 2 parts. Built in 1851, originally an inn and pub - The Duck and the Drake, east side was home of the Prescott Journal, first published in 1980. This building would make a great townhome conversion!
The 3 storey King Street building has been the newspapers home for years. Prescott had over 9 weekly papers expressing various political views in the 1800's. The only one to survive is the Prescott Journal, which was printed in the King St. building until 1965. This building is a mix of office and warehouse space.
The King St. building and the east side of the Water St. building were joined in 1965 to house a sheet fed printing business. the buildings will be sold together and will need to be separated by lot addition in order to be sold separately.
